Protecting cultural heritage everyone's mission

"Protecting cultural heritage is the mission of everyone in the community, so the presence of effective people in this field is more essential than any other field," the deputy of Director General of Cultural Heritage of Isfahan Province said.

Isfahan (IMNA) - In the ceremony of the World Museum Day, by expressing that the value of a community and a nation depends on its haves, Seyyed Ali Saleh Derakhshani said: "Fortunately, Iran has many tangible and intangible cultural heritage; where in the world and in which part of human history can we find such an artwork like Chehelsotun?"

Emphasizing the necessity of creating new works in the field of cultural heritage, he said: "We must protect our cultural and social assets with all our power. Those who spend time and money on preserving valuable works are dedicated to Iran; as soldiers, they serve the country. The only word that can describe them is the "lover".

"The role of people in society is undeniable. The presence of effective people in this field is more essential than any other field and it is important to try to preserve these assets because some of them are non-recurring." Derakhshani stated.

Derakhshani criticized the improper development of the city in recent years and said: "Unfortunately, we have wrong definition regarding development in Iran; we have damaged many divine blessings in our city, province and country. However, today we have understood our fault. In the sixth country programme, tourism has been introduced as the country's most important income source; Isfahan, as a museum city, must take this opportunity to the growth and excellence of cultural concepts, city development, and stable income."
