Hybrid vehicles to arrive in tourist attractions

"Due to the efforts, the average lifespan of taxi fleet has reached to 7.5 years. With the support of the private sector and providing the required facilities in such sensitive and strategic tourism- recreational centers, we plan to utilize clean and fuels-efficient vehicles in such places," said the CEO of Isfahan provincial department of transportation and taxi.

Isfahan (IMNA) - Hossein Jafari Said: “with over 9.000 taxis in the transportation fleet of the city, Isfahan has become one of the best exemplary among public transportation system in Iran.”

While stressing the undeniable concern of the people for environmental issues and air pollution, he said that: “the arrival of clean-energy hybrid cars in the transportation system of the city is inevitable. Hence, with the collaboration of related private sectors in Tehran, new hybrid-type and Euoro-5 vehicles (form Tehran) were unveiled in the clean transportation exhibition.

The CEO of Isfahan provincial department of transportation and  and taxi said: “the electric energy needed for the vehicles is supplied through the rotation of axles and wheels; therefore, the pollution level will reduce dramatically.

Mr. Jafari also hopes that with the support of private sectors and providing the required facilities in such sensitive and strategic tourism- recreational centers, hybrid taxis will be used in the city and subsequently major steps towards reducing air pollution could be taken by then.
