Tehran-Isfahan Tourist Train

The first tourist train from Tehran arrived at its destination in Badrud, Natanz County of Isfahan Province, carrying 163 domestic travelers.

The residents of Badrud, many of whom were in traditional clothes and played local music, welcomed the tourists on Thursday.

"The tourists on this train will visit the historic villages of Abyaneh in Natanz, Harpark Fire Temple, Hajatgah Mosque, Abu-Zeidabad Caravanserai, and other sites," Hossein Yazdanmehr, the head of the Natanz office of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, was quoted as saying by ISNA.

Yazdanmehr explained that the Tehran-Badrud tourist train started off on schedule, following the successful launch of similar trains on other routes of the country.

The 163-seat train is scheduled for departure every Thursday from Tehran.

Visitors can purchase train tickets at any travel agency or online at www.raja.ir.

Tourist trains are designed for sightseeing and employ historical dining and sleeper cars for novelty, entertainment and relaxation.
