Iran president to vow support for quake victims

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani arrived in the quake-stricken town of Sarpol-e Zahab, western Iran on Tuesday.

President Rouhani started the visit to investigate how the rescue and relief operations are going on and to make the necessary on-the-site decisions.


The Iranian Red Crescent, Army, Islamic Republic Guards Corps (IRGC) as well as health officials are already helping the victims.

In the quake, that happened at Sunday night local time with 7.3 magnitude on Richter scale, 413 people lost their lives and 7454 were injured. 

The quake was felt in areas far from the quake-stricken areas. Qatar, Occupied Palestine, Turkey, and Kuwait felt the jolt, too.
