Iranian artists begin weaving world's 3rd largest carpet

Managing Director of Nafis Carpet Company Mehdi Kheirkhah said on Tuesday that weaving of the world's finest and third largest carpet started in Neyshabour city, Khorasan Razavi province.

He said that the carpet ordered by a mosque in Oman and 150 master weavers are to weave the 1800 square meters carpet.

Kheirkhah said it takes one and half year to weave the carpet, which is the finest one in the world with 187 colors.

He said that the largest carpet measuring 6,000 square meters ordered by Abu Dhabi and the second one measuring 5,000 square meters ordered by Oman were woven also by the company.

Kheirkhah concluded that the carpet will be woven part by part and then will be connected to each other in the venue of the mosque in Oman.
