Iran, Algeria to enhance tourism cooperation

Algerian Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts Hacene Mermouri said on Wednesday that his country is ready to provide necessary facilities to promote exchange of tourists between the two countries.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of the 22nd Algeria International Book Fair while visiting Iran’s pavilion and talking to Iran’s Ambassador to the country Reza Ameri.

Referring to Iran’s ancient history, Algerian minister hoped that bilateral ties would improve in the field of tourism.

Ameri, for his part, stressed the need for further acquaintance of the two nations with each other’s history and civilization, saying that promoting tourism collaboration with Algeria is among the priorities of Iran.

International Book Fair attended by Iran opened in a ceremony inaugurated by Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia and Minister of Culture Ezzeddin Maihoubi and Iran’s ambassador in Algiers.

Algeria International Book Fair will continue until November 5.
