European travels to Iran raise to 56%

Iranian Head of Planning and Tourism Development publicized statistics on the number incoming travelers to the country over the first three months of the current Iranian calendar year 1396 (2017).

As IMNA reports from Mohajeri Nejad, a 6.9% fall has occurred in the number of tourists entering Iran. The census, however, is attributed to the travelers from countries of Persian Gulf and Iraq, the official declared. He considered the mentioned decrease due to the political relations of Persian Gulf states with Iran after the accident of Saudia Arabia's embassy, insecurity in neighboring countries, and the unstable economic conditions in Iraq and Russia.

The incoming tourists to Iran has decreased to 5.2% in the Iranian year 1395 (March 2016 – March 2017).

Afterwards, he highlighted the 56.6% increase in the number of European and American incoming tourists to Iran since last year until the past month. The statistics is raised as a result of post-JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) impacts since 2015.

The mentioned statistics are obtained from Migration Police which is continuously registering the inbound and outbound tourists based on their visa type, Mohajeri Nejad reminded.

To step out of the current tourism situation, he claimed: the new Head of Cultural Heritage Organization has taken some measures in this regard, according to the president's emphasis. The accelerating plans are anticipated to follow by considerable grow in the field.

The authority approved of the fact that Persian Gulf countries can serve as more income-producing countries because they travel to Iran for pilgrimage, medical, recreation purposes; but he further stated that the ongoing conditions are totally vice versa affected mostly by their political-economic affairs.
