Iran, Italy to broaden cooperation in water, electricity industry

Head of Export Promotion and Logistics at the Ministry of Energy Hamid Reza Tashayoei said on Tuesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran and Italy are to broaden cooperation in water and electricity industry, IRNA reported.

He said in a meeting with Italy economy attaché to Tehran on Tuesday.

Italy is among those countries that after the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) have broadened economic cooperation with Iran, Tashayoei said.

Since Iran suffers a dry climate, expansion of cooperation in water and electricity industry is of prime importance, he said.

Iran is determined to broaden cooperation in renewable energy with Italy, he underlined.

Formation of a joint working committee can help broaden all-out cooperation in education, research and industry, he said.

Grounds are well-prepared for active participation of Italian companies in Iran, he said.

Italy's economy attaché to Tehran, for his part, expressed satisfaction over expansion of economic cooperation mainly in the energy sector, and said Italy welcomes formation of a joint committee to ease expansion of cooperation between the two sides' state-run as well as private sectors.
