44 foreign guests attending 30th ICFF in Isfahan

Mehdi Jamalinejad the mayor of Isfahan reminded that Isfahan was the cultural capital of the Islamic World in 2006 and is now the capital of culture and civilization of the Islamic Iran, and stressed: Isfahan has absolutely its roots in history.

Jamalinjad in his interview with IMNA reporter pointed to the 30th International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Isfahan and stated: all the satisfactory happenings in the festival will optimistically work together to prove the durability of the event in Isfahan in future years.

Isfahan's mayor expressed satisfaction over the return of the festival to its original home, Isfahan, and added: the festival which was launched in the province of Isfahan and grew here, will definitely host it in the coming years as well.   

He confirmed: we have planned to involve the young staff in the film festivals for children and youth. "In this edition of the festival, we had scheduled to have Isfahani filmmakers involved in the festival in order to train them and make children familiar with the festival", he explained.  

He further informed citizens that various training courses and workshops were held on the sidelines of the festival this year, and continued: also activists and valuable artists of the country in the field of children were for the first time praised in the festival.

"Marzieh Mahboub is a valuable puppeteer from our province whose art has been in childhood memories of most Iranians", Jamalinejad stated in Marzieh Mahboub's tribute ceremony during the 30th ICFF.  

Isfahan's mayor announced: "88 guests from 44 foreign countries participated in this cultural event, 30 of them were jury members but 6 Isfahani jury members were also included. The section of national films were judged by a 66-member jury who were all from the city of Isfahan."

He also said that a budget of 2 billion tomans was allocated to the festival, worked in collaboration with the International Cinematic Foundation named Farabi.
