Alimorad holds Stop Motion Workshop

The first specialized workshop of the 30th International Film Festival for Children and Youth was held today at the Central Library of Isfahan.

Abdollah Alimorad is a veteran Iranian animator and one of the founders of stop motion technic led the workshop. Amirhossein Alimorad, his son and also a professional stop-motion animation director joined him in instructing at the workshop.

Abdollah Alimorad said: “stop motion has a long history in film. It was often used to show objects moving as if by magic. Some masterpieces were created by stop motion technic.”

He added: “computers and science advanced during time. But they never replaced stop motion. They contributed to stop motion. It shows arts that are created by hands are irreplaceable.”

Alimorad said: “teaching animation should not be our goal. Developing children’s creativity through animation technics are the goal. Never forget that sky is the limit in animation.”

Alimorad directed the workshop to make an animated short film using stop motion technic.
