Isfahan holds one third of the world’s crafts

Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization of Isfahan province announced: The organization will perform more activities in the field of rural handicrafts in order to pave the way for creating more rural jobs.

Fereydoon Allahyari, in an interview with IMNA reporter, confirmed that Isfahan, with more than 199 branches in handicrafts, has a valuable position in the field of crafts throughout the country and even the whole world.  

“Isfahan, known as the World Crafts City enjoys a distinguished position in the province and the country”, Allahyari reminded and stated: We need to take valuable steps to help the crafts grow as an inexpensive and clean industry.

Pointing that Iranian Supreme Leader, ayatollah Khamenei, has named the current year as “Resistance economy, production, and job creation”, fereydoon Allahyari said: The main function of crafts must be job creation with minimum investment and maximum value added.    

He further added that the organization of cultural heritage, therefore, has put vast areas of programs top on its agenda, and follows the mentioned policies.   

He finally emphasized on the necessity of supporting crafts and tourism in Isfahan and said: In order to boost handicrafts, there is a need to grow tourism.
